Canvas in the Land

Photographs are used to document what occurs between the canvas and land. There are rites of passage, and a depth of connectivity with our environment, that we can’t access easily in today’s modern world. Our relationship with the land feels severed, though the yearning for an understanding and a connection is still very strong. I use the canvas as a symbolic body and take this body through the land. The landscape becomes a stage to re-enact these rites.
